SCSC 2026 Award for Real-Time Insulin Secretion Monitoring Research
The 2026 International Symposium on Calcium Signaling and Cell Function, also known as the 14th Symposium on Calcium Signaling in China (SCSC 2026), was successfully held in Jinan, Shandong Province, from October 11 to 15, 2026. The symposium brought together leading experts and scholars from around the world to deliver invited talks and engage in in-depth discussions across six frontier themes: (1) Calcium signaling and related ion channels; (2) Calcium stores and calcium-binding proteins; (3) GPCRs in cell function; (4) Calcium signaling in health and disease; (5) Drug targets and new drug research and development; and (6) Advanced technologies of calcium signal detection. Dr. Wenlong Huang participated in the symposium and presented his latest research on real-time insulin secretion monitoring. His poster, entitled “Quantitative, Real-Time Insulin Secretion Monitoring and Ca²⁺ Correlation Revealed by an Extracellular ATP Sensor,” was well received by attendees. In recognition of this work, Dr. Huang was honored with the SCSC 2026 Memorial Award.
