2026 Chinese Biophysics Congress
July 30th – The 2026 Chinese Biophysics Congress took place at the Boao Forum for Asia Convention Centre in Hainan, China, from July 30 to August 3, 2026. Serving as China’s largest‑scale and most prestigious academic event for biophysical research, the congress addresses recent breakthroughs and emerging trends within biophysics and its associated disciplines. Centered upon the theme “Biophysics and Human Health”, the conference includes twenty‑nine sub‑themes covering frontier multi‑omics technologies for human‑health research, cutting‑edge‑enabled scientific discovery, novel advances and applications of cryo‑electron microscopy, calcium‑signal decoding: from atomic‑resolution structures to physiological networks, tumor immunity and early‑stage disease prevention, AI‑assisted biology, metabolic pathways governing obesity‑driven tumor progression, translational‑medicine advances for the diagnosis and management of rare metabolic disorders, and nanobiotechnology‑powered precision diagnostics, therapeutics and regenerative‑medicine research. During the conference, PhD candidates Yawen Deng, Xuejiao Wang and Sen Yang presented posters entitled In Vivo Islet Ca²⁺ Dynamics as a Functional Readout of α–β Cell Interaction in Glucose Homeostasis, Glucose Regulation and Obesity‑Mediated Alterations in Endogenous Somatostatin Secretion from Pancreatic δ‑Cells and α‑δ Paracrine Signaling Regulates β‑Cell Activation and Inactivation Thresholds to Enable Directional Glucose Sensing in Pancreatic Islets, respectively.
